One pic from Vegas

Had I had my wits about me while in Vegas, I might’ve taken more pictures, but I only ended up with one. This picture was taken in the Las Vegas airport. They have cool elevators there.

  1. One thing I like about the Vegas airport is the huge budget they had for the security line videos– they had celebrities telling what you can and can not talk through and how to take laptops out of the bags. Made standing in line a little more interesting.

  2. @Dave — My friends saw the Cirque du Soleil KA show (www.cirquedusoleil.com/cirquedusoleil/ka/) and thought it was great. There’s also Penn & Teller’s show (www.pennandteller.com/03/tickets.html), which we considered, but chose KA.

I don’t know if you picked a hotel yet, but we stayed at the Imperial Palace. It was a very good location, right on the strip, and was reasonably priced. Bring some earplugs if you stay there though — it seemed to be right next to a bar with live bands playing half the night.

  3. Those elevators look like they are straight out of Star Trek!

Kathryn and I are super excited about our upcoming Vegas trip in April. It’ll be the first time either of us has gone there. Did you have any favorite places to visit there?

  4. @Dave — Well, I was holed up sick in my hotel room about 90% of the time I was there, so I didn’t get to see much at all. Sorry I can’t give specific recommendations of stuff to do :-( I’m sure you’ll have a great time though. I definitely want to visit again (and not be sick when I do).

  5. The Hilton has the Star Trek Experience. That was fun.

Oh yeah, the Hilton also had a glass elevator and you can go 30 floors up and look at the horizon. It was the only free ride. :)

We stayed at the Villa Roma which was not directly on the strip, but it was walking distance from it. It was near the Riviera.
